UML’s Pokhrel calls for democratic majority in proposed CA



CHITWAN: General Secretary of the CPN-UML, Ishwor Pokhrel said writing new constitution was not possible if the democratic forces could not get majority in the next Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

Addressing the closed session of the Youth Association of Nepal, National Cadres Gathering, here on Sunday, he said writing new constitution was not possible unless the democratic forces get a two thirds majority in the election.

He claimed that the first CA was dissolved without giving a new constitution to the country lacking unity among the democratic forces.

During the programme, UML General Secretary Pokhrel said the UML had no internal dispute in it and claimed that the UML would stand as a biggest political party from the second CA election.

The YAN cadres gathering started on Saturday has entered the closed session programme at Ratnagar of Chitwan district, on Sunday.
