6352 candidates file nominations for FPTP seats

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has received few complaints against nominations of candidates contending in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election from 240 constituencies across the country under the first-past-the post (FPTP) system.

Registration of the complaints lodged against the FPTP election candidates across the country completed on Saturday, according to the EC Spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai.

As many as 6,352 candidates have filed nominations for the November 19 election from 240 constituencies. Of them, 1,000 are independent, one is the third gender, 591 are women and 5,671 are men, the EC said.
