Shot UML leader, Alam passes away

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader and candidate for the upcoming CA elections Mohammud Alam has been declared dead by doctors involved in his treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Thursday.

Alam was undergoing treatment at the hospital after he was shot by an unidentified group in Bara last Friday. He was declared dead at 12.35 this afternoon.

Alam was attacked by two motorcycle-borne assailants in Bara district. He had sustained serious brain injuries as he was shot at in the head.

He was put on the ventilator life support in a very critical condition.
