Nepal defeats UAE by five wickets
Kathmandu: Nepal defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 5 wickets in a practice match held at the Global Cricket Academy ground in Dubai on Tuesday.
Put into bat, the UAE posted a total of 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Nepal surpassed the total with three balls to spare, thanks to 85 not out by captain Paras Khadka. Khadka hit 9 fours and 4 sixes during his knock in 62 balls.
Nepal is currently in the UAE for the Twenty20 World Cup qualifying tournament.
Nepal has been grouped together with Denmark, Kenya, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Netherlands, Bermuda and Afghanistan in Group ‘B’. Nepal plays its first match against Denmark on November 15.Group A comprises Ireland, Canada, the UAE, Namibia, Hong Kong, Uganda, America and Italy.
The top six from this tournament will qualify for the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh next year.
