Govt, constitution on the basis of consensus: Koirala
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) president Sushil Koirala has expressed his firm commitment towards the government formation and constitution promulgation on the basis of consensus.
During the meeting with the UC ambassador Peter W. Bodde this morning, Koirala told the US envoy that NC has already initiated the attempt of consensus for the constitution and government. NC president Koirala informed Bodde that he has already held a talk with UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and was planning to hold consultations with other parties also as an effort to forge national consensus.
Stating that democracy and democratic constitution can be ensured only if the UCPN (Maoist) was taken ahead together, he advised Koirala to not keep the Maoists out of the constitution drafting process. In response to Bodde’s advice, Koirala told that he was making serious attempts to take the UCPN (Maoist) together for government formation and constitution drafting.
