Materialistic things give pleasure for a while, soon they will lose their novelty, and you need something better, and their is no end to it. Maslow’s heirarchy of needs, man needs sense of accomplishment and belonging, to feel good about the success in life.if one goes after only materialistic things, According to erickson’s stages of life leads to despair and frustration for wasting one’s life.
