Madhav Nepal says Party needs dynamic leader

Nawalparashi, June 18. CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the party’s forthcoming general convention is a battle of ideology and attitude at the leadership-level.

Addressing a gathering of party cadres close to him at Kawasoti on Wednesday, leader Nepal said the culture of threat and greed for posts seen in the party should be put an end as it would damage the party. He urged party cadres to choose a dynamic, energised and competent leader as the party new head through the upcoming general election.

Pointing at party parliamentary leader leader KP Oli, he said any activities, thoughts and attitude guided by personal interests would never do well for the party and people, rather it promotes the culture of factionalism.

All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) former president Ram Kumari Jhankri said any leadership failing to internalise the agenda of socio-economic change could not head the party. Lawmakers Baijnath Chaudhary and Krishna Poudel were also present in the programme.

It may be noted that leaders Nepal and Oli have announced their candidacy for the post of party new chair and are openly putting accusations and counter-accusations to each other. RSS
