Gold price stable‚ silver drops



KATHMANDU, Apr 5: Gold price remained stable this week at Rs 51,600 per tola, however, silver prices slumped by five rupees per tola over the week, from March 29 to April 3.

The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 51,600 per tola. The price of the yellow metal remained unchanged on Monday.

The bullion price plunged by Rs 500 per tola in a single day on Tuesday and traded at Rs 51,100 per tola. Gold price, however, edged up by Rs 150 a tola on Wednesday to be priced at Rs 51,250 per tola. On Thursday, price of the precious yellow metal, increased by Rs 350 a tola in a single day to be traded at Rs 51,600 per tola and remained the same on Friday — the last trading day of the week.

The price of silver slumped by five rupees per tola during the six trading days of the week. Silver was traded at Rs 720 per tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week and remained unchanged on Monday.

The price of the white metal tumbled by Rs 15 per tola on Tuesday to be fixed at Rs 705 per tola.

Silver price, however, edged up on Wednesday by five rupees a tola and was traded at Rs 710 per tola.

The price of the white metal again increased by five rupees per tola on Thursday and remained unchanged on Friday to settle the week’s trading at Rs 715 per tola.
