Qatari minister calls on PM



KATHMANDU, Apr 6: Qatari Minister for Labor and Social Affairs Abdullah bin Salih Al-Khulaifi met Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

The duo discussed issues including Qatar-Nepal relations, economic growth of Qatar, socio-economic development of Nepal, backwardness of Nepal due to political instability, hopes of development in near future and benefits of Nepali resources to Qatar among others, PM’s press coordinator Prakash Adhikari said.

PM Koirala extended his warm wishes to Qatar for successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022 along with gratitude for providing health facilities and insurance to Nepali workers. This will motivate other countries to do so as well, PM Koirala stated.

The Prime Minister also stated that Nepal is in historical course of institutionalisation of federalism and development after the constitution drafting, a century-long dream of Nepali citizens.

Minister of State for Labour and Employment Tek Bahadur Gurung, PM’s foreign advisor Dinesh Bhattarai, Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Employment Bhola Shiwakoti, Qatar’s ambassador to Nepal and Nepal’s ambassdor to Qatar were also present at the meeting.
