Alternative traffic arrangements for SBT’s funeral

KATHMANDU, APR 17: The government on Friday urged the public to use alternative routes in order to provide a way to the funeral procession of former Prime Minister and senior leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Surya Bahadur Thapa.

The funeral procession of Thapa will be taken out from the Dasharath Stadium at 2 pm today and move along Bir Hospital, Bag Bazaar, Maitidevi, Old Baneshwor, Battisputali, Gaushala and finally to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation.

Issuing a public notice, the Ministry of Home Affairs asked people to cooperated with traffic police by using alternative routes during the procession.

The Cabinet meeting on Thursday had decided to cremate the five-time Prime Minister with state honours.
