Paswan’s health deteriorating, doctors advice him for ICU care
Kathmandu, Sept 15: Health condition of Bahujan Shakti Party Chair and Constituent Assembly member Bishwendra Paswan who has been on a fast- onto-death since the past eight days with a charter of various demands is deteriorating.
Doctors attending on him have suggested putting him under Intensive Care Unit (ICU) treatment. He has been diagnosed with various health problems including of urinary system, kidney, sugar level and pressure, according to Dalit Rights Struggle Committee Chair and former lawmaker Binod Pahadi.
Leader Paswan has been on a hunger strike in front of the CA building, New Baneshwor, demanding the guarantee of 14 per cent representation of dalits in every state apparatus, 15 per cent representation of the backward community, 10 per cent of Muslims and 37 per cent of the indigenous nationalities in the constitution. Stern action against those convicted guilty in the cases of corruption and rape are the agendas of his agitation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala sent a formal letter to Paswan, urging him to break the fast. However, he refused the PM’s call and said he would continue it until his demands are addressed. RSS
