Potato production up in Mustang



Mustang, Dec. 29: Mustang district exported a total of 2,200 metric tonnes of potato this year after the positive growth in the production.

The District Agricultural Development Office, Mustang, shared that potato production saw four percent growth this year, thanks to the favourable climatic condition.

Planning Officer at the Office Tapta Bahadur Gurung said that the district supplied 2,200 metric tonnes of potato to other districts from 3,654 metric tonnes of its production in the current fiscal year. The farmers charge upto Rs 40 per kg and the traders export the production to Pokhara.

“The traders from Pokhara pay money to the farmers in advance and supply the Himalayan potato to the tourist city soon after the harvesting,” Gurung said. RSS
