Most of the govt offices lack their own buildings
Jajarkot, Jan 16: Most of the government offices in Jajarkot district have been delivering their services from the rented buildings for lack of their own buildings.
Over 100 Jajarkot-based government offices are run from the rented-offices and the offices are paying more than Rs 10 million in rent every year.The District Education Office, Drinking Water and Sanitation Sub Division Office, Irrigation Division Office, District Land Revenue Office, Survey Office, District Ayurveda Office and Agricultural Development Bank, among others are in the rented-houses.
District Chief of Finance Comptroller General Office Yam Bahadur Budha said that Rs 10 million plus is being spent every year for rent as many government offices in the district lack their own buildings.
The District Police Office, Jajarkot, pays Rs 600,000 in a year as the rent for running 22 police posts in different areas in the district, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Malla said. DSP Malla added that the Jajarkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry and VDCs concerned have been contributing some amount to pay the rents of the police posts.
