Udayapur declared a fully open-defecation-free district
Gaighat (Udayapur) Jan 27: Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Prem Bahadur Singh, has declared Udayapur district an ‘Open defecation-free district ‘ amidst a function today.
At a programme organised at the premises of Gaighat-based Triyuga Higher Secondary School, Minister Singh announced the district a fully defecation-free district.
Reading a written document, Minister Singh said, “I announce that the district has now become open defecation-free district formally from today.”
Similarly, Minister of State for Urban Development, Manju Chaudhary, also read out the commitment letter in this regard.
Local Development Officer Pitamber Adhikari said that the district was declared a fully open-defecation free district as 65,300 private and public toilets were constructed for 64,400 households. The district has three municipalities and 40 VDCs.
