Nepal beats Maldives 2-0 in SAG women football



Guwahati (India), Feb 7: Nepali Women Football team today registered its second straight win after defeating Maldives under the South Asian Games underway here.

Nepal registered its second victory after beating Maldives 2-0 in the match held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium at Shillong. Earlier, Nepal had won its inaugural match by defeating Bangladesh 4-0.

In today’s match, Nepali team captain Anu Lama scored first in the 36th minute of the match while Niru Thapa made it 2-0 with a goal in the 88th minute.

Nepal will play its third match against the hosts, India on February 11.

Two more medals to Nepal

Nepal today won two more medals under the SAG taking place at Shillong of India.
Bijay Sinjali and Susmita Gurung won silver medals on Thaulo of Wushu.

With this, the number of medals won by Nepal has reached five. Of them, three include silver and two bronze medals.
