Kathmandu, March 14: Preparations for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s imminent visit to China beginning from March 20 have reached the final phase.
The Prime Minister is embarking on a week-long visit to the northern neighbour on March 20 at the invitation of the Chinese government.
Both countries have agreed to hold a prime-ministerial level meeting in Chinese capital Beijing from March 21. Besides, they are expected to sign over a half a dozen agreements during the Prime Minister’s visit. Likewise, the Nepali side is hopeful that the visit would turn significant in view of holding discussions about the physical infrastructure development in the country.
Addressing a programme organised by Media Nepal here Monday, Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa said the Prime Minister’s China visit would dwell on the matters relating to transit, trade and investment between the two countries. Besides, the visit would be focused on further consolidating the bilateral ties.
During his stay in Beijing, the Prime Minister will address a university programme there.
Moreover, he will address the Boao Forum for Asian annual conference 2016 beginning from March 24, according to the information shared by the Foreign Minister.
He will hold bilateral and multi-lateral meetings with leaders from various countries on the sidelines of the Forum. On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Thapa expressed his confidence that the PM’s visit to China would prove a milestone in taking the Nepal-China relations to a new height.
