PM Oli launches electronic procurement system



Kathmandu, April 14: An electronic procurement system based on single portal has been launched in the country for the first time aimed at making procurement process objective, transparent and convincing.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today launched the system amidst a programme organized by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office and opined for leading the country on the way to forward utilizing such electronic technology.

PM Oli said “we should lead the country towards rapid development by utilizing modern technology.”

He added that such electronic procurement system was essential to make the economic activities transparent adding that it has established a new practice in the country.

PM Oli asked for support from all sides and people as the incumbent government was working for national development. The government wants to utilize the latest achievement of the science and technology to make prosperous Nepal, PM added.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli provided the ‘users’ name and password’ to the chiefs of Department of Roads, Department of Irrigation, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Department of Water Inundation and Control among others to follow the system from today itself.

With this service, public can view all governmental procurement activities at www.bolpatra.gov.np/egp.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) had provided technical supports to the office of the Public Procurement and Monitoring under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to develop the system. RSS
