Resham Lama to replace Ast. Minister Bista

Kathamandu, April 20: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) has recommended Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to appoint its leader Resham Lama to replace Assistant Minister for Local Development, Birat Bahadur Bista.

The party on Monday had written a letter to Oli to remove Bista from the Cabinet for allegedly working against the party’s policy.

The Prime Minister, however, is yet to implement the recommendation. Three weeks earlier, the party’s Central Committee had removed co-chairman of the party Keshar Bahadur Bista, who is the father of Biraj, from all party position for three years after he made a public statement that the party should leave the government as the government could not address agendas raised by the party.

Lama is the central member of the party, Chairman of Kavre district and lawmaker as well. Earlier in February, the RPP-N had sacked the party’s spokesperson, Bishnu Bhattarai, accusing him of working against the party’s interests.
