‘National unity under UCPN (Maoist) inevitable’



Tulasipur (Dang), April 23: UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said it has become imperative to initiate the national unity campaign under the UCPN (Maoist)’s leadership.

Inaugurating the annual gathering of the Nepal Intellectualss Organisation, Dang here on Friday, he stressed on the need of forging a broader national unity to implement the federalism, secularism, republic and inclusiveness.

“The UCPN (Maoist) alone will lead this campaign of national unity in its capacity as the party that had led the people’s movement and the peace process. All should focus on completing the socialist revolution by fulfilling the remaining agenda of the capitalist revolution,” he said.

He also stressed on the need of solidarity among the revolutionary forces as the people’s needs have yet to be fulfilled although political achievements have been made.

The UCPN (Maoist) chairman said that although the party is weak in terms of organisation, it is numero uno on the basis of agenda, stressing on the need of unity among all the Maoist parties.

Coordinator of the Organisation, Arun Kumar Sharma said the gathering will elect the organisation’s new leadership for the next term.
