Education Ministry to monitor school fees
Kathmandu, May 9: The Ministry of Education is planning to carry out monitoring at various schools in the capital from today. The monitoring would be conducted under the leadership of joint secretaries at the Ministry.
The Ministry decided to take this step as private schools were found arbitrarily charging fees violating the provision of the education regulations regarding the fee collection.
Joint teams of the different students unions on last Wednesday had visited Ullens and Rato Bangala schools and found charging Rs 28,000 and 25,000 for admission to grade one.
The Ministry from today will inspect the schools forming different five teams for the purpose, said spokesperson at the Ministry Hari Lamsal.
He added that the Ministry will take action if any schools were found arbitrarily charging fees. The inspection team will comprise Ministry officials, student union representatives, and parents as well.
