Efforts to forge consensus on Parliament Regulation to continue: DPM Gachchhadar

Biratnagar, May 16: Deputy Prime Minister, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, has said that initiatives would be taken till last hour to forge consensus on the Legislature-Parliament Business Operation Regulation.

Talking briefly to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, DPM Gachchhadar said that initiatives would be taken till the last hour before going in voting process to decide on the Regulation.

He pointed out that the opposition parties should think on it as a positive message would be disseminated among the people if the Legislature-Parliament Business Operation Regulation is promulgated through consensus for the implementation of the new constitution.

Stating that the number of members on the parliamentary special hearing committee should be determined as per the new constitution, the DPM clarified that the committee could disqualify the decision of the government regarding its proposal on impeachment of the chiefs of the constitutional bodies and the chiefs of bodies appointed on political basis with two-third majority.

DPM Gachchhadar said that the government was ready to hold local bodies’ election and added that the Nepali Congress and Madhesi Morcha should be positive for the same.

Responding to the query of media persons over agitation of the Federal Alliance, he expressed the view that it was not suitable to launch agitation as the government has urged the Alliance for talks time and again, saying all problems would be resolved through dialogue. RSS
