Govt cancels holiday on Friday

KATHMANDU, April 17: The government, on Monday, has cancelled its decision to give public holiday on Friday. Earlier, a cabinet meeting on Sunday has decided to declare public holiday on Monday (April 17) and Friday (April 21) on the occasion of President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s State visit to India.

The government canceled holiday on Friday as its decision to declare two-day public holiday faced criticism from various quarters.

The Office of President, on Sunday, had stated that the government’s decision to declare holiday was against President Bhandari’s will.
