Election institutionalizes federalism, republic: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, May 25: Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said federalism, republic, inclusion and proportional representation have been guaranteed with the holding of the local-level election.

While welcoming new-comers to his party CPN (MC) amidst a programme at his private residence Lazimpat today, he said the local-level election had institutionalized the federal democratic republic and nobody could upend it.

“Of late the country successfully held the first-round of local-level election, institutionalizing the federal democratic republic. Nobody can overturn this achievement,” he continued.

In his address to new-comers to the party, he said, “I personally and as the party chair heartily welcome you all to the party. Your contribution to institutionalize agenda of changes and bring prosperity to the country will be significant.”

The constitution enforcement process had begun in earnest with the holding of the first-round of local level election, Prime Minister Dahal said, expressing his confidence that the second-round election would be conducted on the scheduled date, June 14.

On the occasion three dozens of political leaders associated with different political parties including TR Khambu of CPN (Maoist) – Netra Bikram Chand faction announced their isolation from their parties to join the CPN (MC).

Similarly, Naya Shakti Party’s central leaders Dr Chet Kumari Gurung and Dr Chandra Laksamba joined the CPN (MC), quitting the Naya Shakti.

On the occasion, leader Khambu said, “The CPN (MC) and Prachanda have incomparable contribution to devolving people’s rights to people’s doorsteps.”

Likewise, leaders Dr Gurung and Laksamba said CPN (MC) vision to change the face of the country through economic development and prosperity prompted them to join this party. RSS
