Nepal-India transit points to be shut from June 26 for polls

KAILALI, June 23: The Nepal-India border in the Kailali and Kanchanpur districts will be sealed for 48 hours from June 26 during June 28 elections.

A meeting of the Nepal-India border security officials held on Thursday in India’s Paliya took a decision to this effect, said Kailali Chief District Officer Gobinda Prasad Rijal, one of the attendants.

The meeting was also attended from Nepal side by Kanchanpur Chief District Officer Manohar Prasad Khanal and Superintendent of Police Arjun Chanda Thakuri at Kailali District Police Office. RSS
