Lawmakers draw govt’s attention to implement disaster controlling measures

Kathmandu, July 4: Speaking in today’s meeting of the Legislature Parliament, lawmakers have drawn the attention of the government to implement the natural disaster controlling mechanism in various places across the country.

They have further urged the government to provide reliefs to natural disaster victims of Saptari, Sindhupalchok, Dhading, Kaski among other districts. The lawmakers have demanded for developing the safer and integrated settlement in disaster hit areas to lessen the additional loss.

Lawmakers have further urged the government to take diplomatic initiations to settle the problems caused by water inundation in Indo-Nepal border areas adding that the problems were caused by the barrage build by Indian sides.

Nepali Congress lawmakers Mohan Bahadur Basnet and Tejulal Chaudhary, CPN (UML) lawmaker Krishna Bhakta Pokharel and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party lawmakers Prem Suwal and Dil Bahadur Nepali had expressed their views in this regard in the meeting. RSS
