RPP expecting encouraging results in third round local polls

Kamal Thapa

JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 2: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has expressed confidence that his party would get encouraging results in the third round of local level elections.

Speaking during a press conference organized on Wednesday by the RPP Dhanusha District Working Committee, Thapa said that his party has been preparing for the upcoming election with high priority.

He insisted that the government and the opposition parties should create an enabling environment for the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) to participate in the election, alleging that the Nepali Congress was conspiring to prevent the RJP’s participation in the election.

“The Nepali Congress is engaged in a premeditated manner to prevent the constitution amendment bill from being presented in the parliament for a decision.

The issue of the purported RPP lawmakers’ abstention at the time of passing the constitution bill in parliament is only the propaganda spread by the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Centre),” he said.

He further stated that the constitution amendment bill was not in any manner related to his party’s joining or not joining the government, reiterating that his party was not joining the Deuba-led government.
