UML chair Oli stresses on timely polls

JHAPA, Aug 9: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the country must pursue peace, prosperity and stability by concluding all three levels of elections. He added timely holding of the polls is necessary to enforce the new constitution and institutionalize the achievements made so far.

“The UML is in favour of concluding all level polls by third week of November. Or the elections should be concluded within the stipulated time (January 21, 2018). Otherwise the country may plunge into a political and constitutional crisis,” he said while speaking at a gathering of party cadres organized in the district by UML Bhadrapur town committee on Wednesday.

“Encouraging participation of local people in election campaigns was a good sign of their faith in polls,” he said.

He also accused the ruling parties Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) of not standing in favor of the country and people alike. RSS
