Prez Bhandari approves army mobilization in local polls

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted approval to a bid to mobilize Nepal Army during the upcoming third phase of local level elections in Province-2 slated for September 18.

According to the President’s Office, the approval to that effect was granted as per the Article 66 (2) of the Constitution.

The meetings of the National Security Council and the Council of Ministers on August 21 had recommended the President to mobilize the NA for the security purpose during the upcoming polls. RSS
