Oli dissatisfied with govt’s decision to hold elections in two rounds
KATHMANDU, Aug 30: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has expressed his dissatisfaction over the government’s decision to conduct the election of Province and House of Representatives in two rounds.
“The government made this decision without consultation with UML,” fumed Oli taking to media persons upon his arrival from Thailand medical trip at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
The government today after consultation with the Election Commission decided to conduct the Province and Federal elections on two stages. Earlier the government had decided to conduct both polls in a single go and had fixed the date November 26 for holding elections. The second round of elections will be held on December 7.
“First they fixed November 23. Then, citing lack of time for election preparation, the election was rescheduled for November 26. Now, it has been postponed again. We don’t see any necessity for postponing election,” said Oli.
Chair Oli also slammed Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s attempt to obstruct UML’s function in Janakpur on Tuesday. “It’s not a political character of any party. RJPN is adopting a politics of violence,” he added.
He warned, “It won’t be good if UML retaliates.”
