Gautam’s murder condemned


KATHMANDY, Oct. 9: Nepal Chamber of Commerce has condemned the killing of Federation of Contractors Association Nepal (FCAN) Chairperson Sharad Kumar Gauchan.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, NCC’s Acting General Secretary Nilkantha Chaulagain said that the murder of Gauchan in the broad day light has proved poor security situation. The murder of Gauchan that took place in the capital city while travelling in his vehicle has not only saddened the contractors but also the entire industrialists and business community.

Foreign direct investment would be affected and country’s economic prosperity cannot be imagined for lack of security in the country, Chaulagain has said and urged the government to be serious towards security system.

The NCC has also demanded stern action against the culprits and has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.

Gauchan, who was critically injured when the unidentified group shot him at Kathmandu Metropolis-31, Kharibot Prayagmarg in New Baneswor at around 3.00 pm today, died on the way to Minbhawan-based Civil Hospital for treatment.
