Four killed in Udayapur jeep accident
UDAYAPUR, Oct 30: At least four persons were killed when a Tata Sumo jeep skidded off the road and fell around 400 meters down at Katari Municipality-11 along the Siddhicharan Lokmarga at around 1:30 pm in Udayapur on Monday.
All four were killed on the spot and six others sustained injuries, Udayapur police said, adding that further details of the accident are awaited. The ill-fated jeep (Na 1 Ja 3404) was heading towards Okhaldhunga from Katari in Udayapur.
A police team led by DSP Mahendra Shrestha, chief of Area Police Office, Katari, is carrying out rescue work with the help of locals.
Likewise, a man was killed, and another one injured when two motorcycles collided with at Ramgram Municipality-4 in Nawalparasi district. The deceased has been identified as local resident Roshan Harijan, 18, an ill-fated motorcycle rider. He died in the course of treatment at the Prithivi Chandra Hospital.
Another injured motorcycle rider local resident Prem Narayan Harijan was being treated at the Bhairahawa Medical College, police said.
