Maoist Center, Bandermune victims sign three-point agreement
CHITWAN, Dec 3: CPN (Maoist Center) and the victims of Bandermune incident on Sunday have signed a three-point agreement. Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal signed the agreement with the victims.
According to the agreement, initiatives will be taken to provide employment to the family members of the victims, education for children of the deceased, bear the medical expenses of the injured and build a memorial park in 10 bigha area in remembrance of the victims.
The committee will comprise of three members from the victim’s side, three from Maoist Center and one representative from Madi Municipality.
At least 38 people were killed, and 75 others injured when the then Maoist rebels ambushed an overcrowded bus at Bandarmude in Madi of Chitwan district on June 6, 2005.
Dahal, who is contesting parliamentary election from Chitwan-3, admitting that Badarmudhe was the serious most mistake of the insurgency period, vowed to implement the agreements signed with the victims.
On the occasion, Dahal was also welcomed by the Bandermune victims.
