Maoist Center wins both PA seats in Rukum east
RUKUM, Dec 8: CPN (Maoist Center) candidates representing the left alliance have won both the Provincial Assembly seats in Rukum (east).
In the PA constituency ‘A’, CPN-MC’s Tej Bahadur Oli won with 5,427 votes while his nearest rival Nepali Congress’s Duta Kumar Pun got 2,144 votes.
Likewise, in constituency ‘B’, Purna Bahadur Gharti of the CPN-MC defeated NC’s Dutta Bahadur Basnet with a margin of 2,705 votes. Gharti secured 5,816 votes while Basnet bagged 3,111 votes, according to Chief Returning Officer Durga Bahadur Bhusal.
CPN-MC’s Kamala Roka was also elected as the House of Representatives member from the district.
