UML’s Bhattarai wins federal parliament seat from Khotang

KHOTANG, Dec 9: Leftist alliance candidate from CPN-UML Bishal Bhattarai has won federal parliament election securing 35,377 votes in Khotang district.

His nearest rival Saraswati Bajimaya of Nepali Congress got 21,612. Bhattarai is an alternative central member of the UML.

Ram Kumar Rai ‘Pasang’ has already won the Province Assembly in Khotang ‘B’.The left alliance’s common candidate Pasang got 18,372 votes while his rival Bishnu Kumar Rai of Nepali Congress received 12,239 votes.

Likewise in Khotang ‘A’, CPN UML’s Rajan Rai secured a seat for provincial assembly from the district, garnering 18,933 votes. His nearest rival Nepali Congress’ Subash Kumar Pokhrel got 13,411 votes.
