Gachhadar victorious in Sunsari-3

SUNSARI, Dec 13: Nepali Congress candidate Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has secured victory in the House of Representatives election from Sunsari-3.

He defeated CPN-UML candidate Bhagawati Chaudhary by 321 votes. Gachhadar received 38,972 votes while Chaudhary obtained 38,651 votes. It has been sixth time Gachhadar has been elected to the parliament.

With this result, vote counting under the First-past-the-post category has concluded.
