Dormani Poudel elected chief minister of Province 3

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Dormani Poudel, CPN-UML Parliamentary Party leader, has been elected the Chief Minister of Province 3 on Sunday.

Governor of Province 3, Anuradha Koirala appointed Poudel to the post as per the Article 168 (1) of the Constitution. Poudel is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

Poudel garnered support from 81 lawmakers in the house comprising of 110 lawmakers—comprising of 58 lawmakers from UML, 23 from CPN (Maoist Center), 21 from Nepali Congress, three from Bibeksheel Sajha, two from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and one each from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic and Naya Shakti Party.
