Election Day to be celebrated in grand manner

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The Election Commission is going to celebrate the Election Day in a grand manner on February 19.

The Election Commission is marking the Election Day when it has won plaudits for conducting four important elections in one year in the context of ending the political and constitutional transition of the country at the earliest.

The Commission is now working for holding the election to the post of President and Vice President after having successfully concluded the election to the local level, Province Assembly and the House of Representatives and National Assembly.

Election Commission spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said the Election Day would be celebrated by organizing various programs for three days from February 19, in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The Election Commission has been celebrating the 7th of Fagun every year as the Election Day in commemoration of the day when the first parliamentary election was started in Nepal 59 years ago. RSS
