HETAUDA, March 21: CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that Hetauda would be the permanent capital of Province No. 3.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Centre Makawanpur in Hetauda on Wednesday, he said among the 13 districts in Province-3, Hetauda itself was appropriate place for the province capital. “The province capital would not be shifted as rumored,” he added.

The former Prime Minister said people should not go after rumors of shifting the province capital as all administrative works to be carried out from the province capital have already been started from Hetauda.

Regarding the name of the province, he said it is the prerogative of the Province Assembly.

“This year has been the ‘election year’ and now is the time to work for the economic prosperity of the country. And this requires national consensus,” the Maoist Center Chair said, adding that the government has created an environment of understanding also with the main opposition party on major national issues for working in a result-oriented manner.

He said the main challenge at present was to maintain good governance, stability and to give impetus to the development. “Works are being expedited to formulating the laws required by the provinces to give impetus to their works,” he said.

Chair Dahal said although the government has two-thirds majority support, it was seeking the support of the Madhes-centric parties to speed up the overall development and to establish political stability, and in fact, has already got it.

Stating that the unification of CPN-UML and Maoist Centre would take place in few days from now, he said the task force constituted to fulfill the unification process has completed its work and was preparing to submit its report. RSS
