President Bhandari to address Parliament on March 29

KATHMANDU, March 26: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will address the federal parliament on March 29 at 4 pm.

A meeting of the cabinet held at PM’s official residence on Monday fixed the schedule, said State Minister for Information and Communication, Gokul Prasad Baskota after the meeting.

It is the first time the President is addressing the both upper and lower house since the November 26 and December 7 House of Representatives and Province Assemblies elections.

Likewise, the meeting has also appointed Dr Kundan Aryal as the press advisor of the prime minister, and Achyut Mainali as the public relation advisor.

According to the State Minister, the cabinet meeting has also decided to lift double taxation on house renting; provide compensation to the land for Ranijamara Project, and bear the treatment cost of those injured in the bomb blasts during the elections and in the violence against women.T

Also decided during the meeting was management of diplomatic passport to the coordinator of the coordination committees in provincial government, provincial assembly and district coordination committee and extension of two years’ term to 13 colonel of Nepal Army.

Responding to a media query on the imminent visit of the Prime Minister to India, State Minister Baskota made it clear that no issues were raised about this in the meeting.
