Indian PM Modi lands in Janakpur
KATHMANDU, May 11: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed in Janakpur on Friday morning for his two-day state visit. He arrived on an Indian Air Force chopper today morning at 10:45 am. This is PM Modi’s third official visit to Nepal.
He was welcomed by Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel, Province no 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut, ministers of the provincial government, Provincial Assembly members, Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City’s Mayor, Lal Kishor Saha, representatives of the political parties and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri. The Indian PM was greeted with local musical procession upon arrival.
PM Modi will head to Janaki temple from Janakpur airport where Prime Minister Oli will welcome him. Modi will then attend a special worship ceremony. Oli arrived in Janakpur earlier this morning.
Indian PM Modi will be accompanied by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the temple.
The two Prime Ministers will then jointly inaugurate the Ramayan Circuit Bus Route and flag off the Janakpurdham – Ayodhya bus service with green flags.
PM Modi will then attend the civic – reception hosted by the provincial government and Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City at the Bargabigha ground. PM Modi will then fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon on the helicopter.
