KATHMANDU, May 21: Nepal Tourism Board has launched a tourism website in Chinese language in a bid to facilitate and attract Chinese tourists.
The NTB has developed this website to informed Chinese tourist about major tourist destination in Nepal.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari launched the website and an infographic that features information about tourist sites of all seven provinces amid a program in the Capital today.
The website provides the information about tourist destinations, attractive pictures of religious places, temples, snow-capped mountains and rivers.
Speaking at a program, Minister Adhikari said the website would help attract more Chinese tourists in a context when inflow of Chinese tourists is increasing.
There is the need of the hour to increase influx of Chinese tourists to meet the target of tourism contributing 25 percents to Nepal’s gross domestic product within next 10 years, and the target of increasing the number of tourists to 5 million each year by 2030.
Other speakers like Secretary of the Ministry Krishna Prasad Devkota, Senior Director for the Board Nandani Thapa and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong viewed that the website would help Chinese tourists become more familiar with Nepali culture and environment, further strengthen people-to-people between Nepal and China and increase economic social partnership.
