Indian PM Modi to land in Janakpur before arriving in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU, May 1: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will directly land in Janakpur before coming to Kathmandu first, according to Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa.
Indian PM Modi, who is scheduled to visit Nepal on May 11, will board an Indian Air Force plane from Patna of India. Modi will be welcomed by a senior minister in Janakpur, according to PM’s press advisor Kundar Aryal.
After arriving at Janakpur, he will perform puja at Janaki Temple.
He will address a function in Barhabigha of Janakpur the same day before heading to the capital, according to Minister Thapa. Modi will also visit Muktinath temple later.
Meanwhile, Minister Thapa has already left for Janakpur to access the security situation.
Thapa said that Indian PM Modi’s security responsibility rested with the country and promised high security arrangement.
Thapa also made it clear that the Indian Prime Minister’s visit will be religious as no political agreements would be made during his visit.
