Cyclist dies, seven injured in Kailali road accident

KAILALI, Aug 2: A cyclist died and seven others were injured in a road accident at Lamkichuha municipality-8 of Kailali district this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Pancharam Chaudhary, 65, of Lamkichuha municipality-9, said Hari Bahadur Oli, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kailali.

The accident took place when a micro-bus (Bhe 1 Ja 635) heading towards Dhangadhi from Nepalgunj hit the cycle, Chaudhary was riding while crossing the road. Chaudhary died during treatment at the hospital.

Similarly, seven passengers travelling on the micro-bus received minor injuries in the accident and they are receiving treatment at Ratna Hospital, Tikapur, added Oli.

Police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.
