Police make three including Spokesperson of NCP, Prakanda, public
KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, made public three persons including central spokesperson of the Nepal Communist Party and former Minister, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma (Prakanda), on Wednesday.
A team of the Metropolitan Police Range had on Tuesday arrested Prakanda, Man Bahadur Shrestha of Kapilvastu and Harichandra Acharya of Kalikot in course of checking a vehicle (Ba 14 Pa (2729) en route to Kathmandu from Hetauda.
Spokesperson of the Police Range, Kathmandu, Mohan Kumar Thapa, said that they were arrested on the charge of extorting more than Rs 70 million from various industrialists and businessmen.
Thapa said that Kathmandu District Court remanded them to five days in custody and further investigation was underway.
