Two killed, one injured in truck plunge

RATNANAGAR, Aug 11: Two persons killed and one critically injured when a truck bearing Indian registration number plate fell down from the Jugedi Bridge at Bharatpur metropolitan city-29 on Saturday morning.

The accident took place at 4.40 am on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section. The truck with registration number MH 42 T 0343) and carrying foodstuff was heading towards Kathmandu from India. Police said it fell 50 meters into a ravine from the bridge at Jugedi.

The deceased have been identified as trick driver 25-year-old Juber Mohamad of Balrampur, India and another man whose name and address is not known, the District Police Office stated.

The driver died at 5.20 am while being treated at College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital while the unidentified man died on the spot.

Forty-year-old Firoz Alam of Balrampur, India who was critically injured in the mishap is receiving treatment at College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur.
