One killed in Palpa jeep mishap

PALPA, Aug 13: Kamal Pandey, 48, of Tansen-6, Bartung, who was injured after being hit by a jeep at Badigyantole, Palpa, has died this morning.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Binod Ghimire at District Police Office informed that Pandey breathed her last at 4.00 am while undergoing treatment at United Mission Hospital in Tansen.

Earlier on Sunday, a nine-month baby, Nisan Basyal, of Bagnaskali rural municipality-3, Nayarnamtales died, the hospital sources said.

The jeep (Ga 1 Cha 6748) en route to Aandolachowk from Hulakchowk of Tanesen had hit pedestrians on Sunday after its brakes failed.

Five persons were injured in the accident. Two among the five had already died, police said.
