Man kills son and brother

JAJARKOT, Aug 15: A person allegedly murdered his son and younger brother at Musikot Municipality-14 in West Rukum.

Shankar Bista, 36, of Chhiwang Chautara hacked his six-year-old son Sudarshan and 20-year-old brother Gokarna to death. The accused who is learnt to have been suffering from mental disorder used a khukuri to kill his son and brother, police said.

Shankar’s other two sons have also been injured in the attack. Following the attack, the accused attempted to commit suicide. He along with two injured sons are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Rukum, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sumit Khadka said.

Meanwhile, a person died after being swept away today by the local Danipipal Stream at Nalgadh Municipality-7. The deceased has been identified as local 39-year-old Umesh Bahadur Shahi, according to Nalgadh Municipality mayor Tek Bahadur Rawal.

Likewise, flashflood washed away two suspension bridges, a house, a water mill and 15 huts and also damaged the paddy crop. RSS
