Kathmandu, Dec 26 : Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that common consensus among the political parties was needed for implementation of the constitution, and taking the country on track of development and prosperity.
Addressing the meeting of the House of Representatives today, the former PM said that the parties have to forge a common understanding to meet the people’s urge for development and prosperity in the aftermath of the completion of the peace process and promulgation of the new constitution.
“Our all hard work made to transform the conflict into peace would go in vain if we failed to move ahead based on consensus. Vital achievements have been made; it cannot be generalized simply as a negligible feat,” Dahal said.
Dahal added, “Situation has been created to advance the relations with the neighbouring countries in a balanced manner and take benefit out of that due to our own achievements. Encouraging environment has been developed to link the Chinese railways to Nepal.”
According to the NCP Chairman Dahal, the current government has done job of far-reaching importance in constitutional development, infrastructure development and expansion of relations with the foreign countries.
Prachanda also said that the decision of Mahasamiti meeting of Nepali Congress to advance the nation towards development and prosperity was a fortunate move.
Saying that the government has prioritized the formulation of the Acts in line with the federalism, Dahal observed that consensus of all was needed to pass the Acts.
“Working to draft the Acts as per the spirit and aspirations of the constitution is the workload of the hour,” Prachanda said seeking the support of the oppositions as well.
Admitting that failure to nab the murderers and rapists of Nirmala Panta was a weak point, he, however, said that the government was effortful in its mission to nab the perpetrators.
During his address to the House, Chairman Prachanda also expressed deep condolences over the demise of many people in road accidents that occurred in Dang and Nuwakot districts recently. RSS
