Vice President Pun inaugurates new luxury hotel in Pokhara
Kaski, Jan 16 : Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said tourism is the main basis for building a prosperous Nepal.
The Vice President said this while addressing a programme after inaugurating the Hotel Task International at Buddhachok of Pokhara today.
He urged the government to take tourism, agriculture, hydroelectricity (energy) and medicinal herbs as the basis for prosperity.
“There are few physical infrastructures for tourism development in Nepal. The need of the day is to attract quality tourists by building adequate tourism infrastructures,” he said, stressing on luxury hotels and restaurants for the convenience of tourists.
The Vice President also suggested expanding hotel industry all over the country and encouraging the youths to start doing business and operating enterprises within the country since it has attained political stability after long.
Gandaki province government minister for economic affairs and planning Kiran Gurung said the province government was ready to create the environment conducive for the industrialists and businesspersons to invest in various businesses including the hotel industry.
He said the provincial government has announced the Year 2022 as the Tourism Year and the expansion of luxury hotels should be promoted to bring in two million tourists into the country during the Year.
The 10-storied hotel building was constructed at a total cost of Rs 180 million invested by hotel proprietor Meen Raj Gurung. The hotel has 32 luxury rooms, one apartment and three seminar halls. (RSS)
