conflict-era concerns of disqualified Maoist combatants

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) co-chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ Thursday claimed that Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ led Communist Party of Nepal has deputed a force to murder him.

“Biplav is after my life. They have deputed a group to murder me. But I won’t be afraid,” he said at a program organized in Kathmandu by YCL to fete families of martyrs and enforced disappeared.

The government on Wednesday decided to restrict the activities of Biplav’s group, a splinter Maoist, following a series of bomb blasts across the country targeting business men and wealthy people.

The government also concluded that the Biplav group’s activities were out of political character and were oriented toward criminal nature.

While referring to Biplav-led party, chairman Prachanda said that the revolution would not be possible through threaten and conspiracy.

He also said that the revolution was not possible through imitation and mimicry.

The revolution could be made successful after proper evaluation of all things, compatible with time, objective reality and need of the hour, according to him.

The NCP chair, on the occasion, said that martyrs will be alive forever and ever due to their sacrifice to people and nation.

On another note, he said that the party unification bid will be completed within few days.
